ABOUT // THE ARTIST

Raphael Grischa is a Swiss-born multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin. While growing up, he was surrounded by intellectuals and creatives and introduced to the world of MTV and Hip Hop at a young age. Along with doing graffiti, these have opened up a vast, creative space for him which he continues to be influenced by to this day.

His signature style – illustrative, organic, bold, and outlined – focuses mainly on animals and color patterns. These have been adapted to murals, canvas, prints, digital art, and tattoos, and continue to evolve, as Grischa strongly believes in a multidisciplinary practice. He dares to expand his artistic expertise while incorporating different media, materials, and tools. He has collaborated with a broad group of individuals, leading him into the fields of architecture, music, fashion design, 3D design, film, and photography to name a few.

Grischa’s wide range of craftsmanship has also been shared with and admired by musicians, where he has created an array of cover art, animated visuals, and merchandise design, as well as directed, produced, and edited music videos for some of the most successful German rap musicians. He has curated and been the Executive Producer of various songs, like “Sallan”, which is one of the most popular rap songs in Turkey to this day, with more than 80 million views on YouTube.

Raphael Grischa maintains spiritual compassion and rawness in his art while upholding its quality to that of the high artisanal standards in his native Swiss culture. His artwork has been exhibited in local and international galleries and has been on display at music festivals, television shows, and commercials.
