“ODE TO OUR HEALTH CARE WORKERS”

My piece is inspired by our hard working nurses and health care workers. They selflessly put themselves in danger everyday to help us. My mother celebrated 41 years of being a RN this year, 30 of those years in L&D. When the pandemic became more known in America, medical masks were on low supply. My mother is also an amazing seamstress and she made herself this bee mask to wear at work. The picture on the very top of my mural is the first picture she sent me during the pandemic.  Her optimism made us stronger, even in this extremely scary time. Health care workers have dedicated so much of their love for us, I wanted to give back to them and dedicate this to my mother. I hope one day I can give her everything she deserves and more.
