STATE OF THE WORLD // THE MURALS
“WE WALK THE SAME STREETS”
Homelessness is unfortunately all too common in our cities. The most recent count in Los Angeles estimates that 66,436 people are experiencing homelessness on any given night.
More than half of the homeless people surveyed cited economic hardship as the primary reason that they fell into homelessness. We need to educate ourselves more. There are myriad reasons why a person becomes homeless – lack of affordable housing, loss of a job, divorce, illness, substance abuse, domestic abuse, etc.
We need to show our fellow humans more respect. We can donate, volunteer, advocate, build an ADU, convert our parking spaces or even just say hello.
